Belmont Farm in Virginia has a long history of whiskey making, dating back over 400 years. For the last 30 years, their unique whiskey has been available to the public. The farm, established in 1836, has seen many historical events, including the Civil War's Battle of Cedar Mountain. Now covering 195 acres, it grows corn, wheat, barley for whiskey, and hay for cattle and horses.
The farm uses a traditional copper pot still from 1933 for slow distillation, unlike the more common column stills. This process preserves the whiskey's aroma and taste. They grow their corn and handle every production step on-site. The cornmeal is mixed with choice malt. This is cooked and fermented before distillation in the copper pot still and then the doubler, ensuring quality.
Belmont Farm's products include Virginia Lightning Corn Whiskey and Kopper Kettle Virginia Whiskey. The Kopper Kettle range features American Single Malt Whiskey, aged in new American oak barrels. There is also the Virginia Whiskey, aged with Virginia oak and apple wood.
The farm is family-run and committed to maintaining traditional whiskey-making methods. It invites whiskey lovers to enjoy its high-quality, traditionally made products.
