Dutch Rum

Dutch rum, often labelled as 'Rum Verschnitt' is a lighter style of rum, often with a slightly briny note, reminiscent of the North Sea winds.

Today, while the Netherlands might not be the first country that comes to mind when thinking of rum, its legacy in the rum trade and its influence on the spirit's global proliferation is undeniable. Dutch rum is a testament to the Netherlands' ability to adapt, refine, and redefine products from its vast trade networks, infusing them with its unique touch.

Dutch rum may not be as globally famed as its Caribbean counterparts, but there are some notable brands that have made a mark. Zuidam Distillers especially, known more for their whiskies and genevers, also craft a meticulously-distilled rum, drawing upon Dutch distillation traditions.
