Dave Worthington – That Boutique-y Whisky Company global brand ambassador

Dave Worthington: ambassador, writer & story teller

'Boutique-y Dave' has been the beloved global brand ambassador for That Boutique-y Whisky Company since 2017, and was named World Whisky Brand Ambassador of the Year at the Icons of Whisky 2018! A huge honour he richly deserves for his energy, infectious enthusiasm and affable approach. (He was highly commended again in 2019, 2020, and 2021!) A former mechanical engineer and shipbuilder, Dave explored his passion for whisky through his popular Whisky Discovery blog launched in 2010, which he ran with his daughter Kat, before they both managed to turn whisky into their day jobs. Just add coffee, Marmite soldiers, and olives, and watch Dave get to work!

Empire Rye 2 Year Old (Boutique-y)

American Rye

Back in 2015, a group of New York State distillers created a consortium to establish a style for the state they call their home. The result is Empire rye, an homage to New York's pre-Prohibition rye history and testament to the skills of its modern distillers. This particular expression is a blended Empire rye spirit from nine different New York distillers! (Even if it can't technically be called whisky/whiskey over here because it's not old enough...) Batch 1 is a release of 685 bottles.

"You may have noticed I've been tasting and re-tasting a lot of rye whiskies these past two months. This was one of my highlights. Bringing together nine different Empire Straight Ryes had never been done before, and Dr Whisky Sam Simmons did a superb job for this limited release."
