Dave Worthington
Dave Worthington: ambassador, writer & story teller
'Boutique-y Dave' has been the beloved global brand ambassador for That Boutique-y Whisky Company since 2017, and was named World Whisky Brand Ambassador of the Year at the Icons of Whisky 2018! A huge honour he richly deserves for his energy, infectious enthusiasm and affable approach. (He was highly commended again in 2019, 2020, and 2021!) A former mechanical engineer and shipbuilder, Dave explored his passion for whisky through his popular Whisky Discovery blog launched in 2010, which he ran with his daughter Kat, before they both managed to turn whisky into their day jobs. Just add coffee, Marmite soldiers, and olives, and watch Dave get to work!

Adnams 9yo 2016 - World Cup Edition
English rye whisky
A striking single cask bottling from Adnams – one of our favourite English distilleries, making one of our favourite rye whiskies on the planet! Distilled in 2016 and matured in a French oak wine cask, we bottled this characterfully complex yet gluggable nine-year-old rye for our World Cup series.
"While I'm not exactly a football fan, I do love a rye, and Adnams were an early adopter of making English rye whisky. I remember visiting Southwold around 12 years ago and tasting casks in the warehouse. Rye and French Oak? Magnificent! I love the branding for these World Cup bottles too. It's Coming Home!"

Tasting notes
Creamy and spicy, woody and sweet, very appetising.
Tasty, textured, orange-cream, ginger, Victoria sponge, honey. Full of character and complexity but gluggable.
Complex but short, herby and spiced finish that demands another sip.
Paul John Classic Select Cask
Indian single malt whisky
The Paul John Classic Select Cask is an unpeated single malt whisky produced by John Distilleries in Goa. It has been matured in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled without chill-filtration at cask strength.
"This has sat neglected in my cabinet, overshadowed by my obsession with the legendary Cask #1906. Revisiting it recently was a revelation. Superb quality, complexity, and depth. It deserves to be back in my regular rotation."

Tasting notes
A big, meaty nose. Stewed apples and pears, freshly-baked sponge cake, golden barley and a pinch of salt.
Lots of honey on the palate, joined by deft spicy notes of cinnamon and cracked black pepper. Glimmers of fruit and dark chocolate.
Juicy fruits and a hint of oak.
