Aalborg Taffel is a classic Aquavit, released in 1846. It has a lovely caraway, citrus flavour, and was heralded as Best Aquavit in the World at the 2002 International Wine and Spirit Competition.
$31.84 - $67.75
Introduced to Aalborg Taffel Akvavit by my 'in-laws' in the sixties. Ever since there has always been a bottle in the freezer at Christmas. My adult grandchildren now enjoy toasting their late grandmother who loved Denmark. Skål
The taste of caraway is extremely potent in this one compared with most other types of aquavit out there but that’s what makes this one special. A must try!
the only distilled beverage I will drink straight. It has notes of caraway and dill. Strong distinct taste that doesn't linger too long. Great with spicy food. After drinking you want to watch a Bergman movie or burn down a monastery ... your choice!
Having grown up on Denmark this bottle was always on our table. It's never lost its appeal. The flavour is full and yet not overpowering. Aromas of aniseed fill your nostrils prior to drinking. This is the gold standard of Akvavit. Perfect chilled with pickled herrings. Can't recommend enough
Ive a Danish surname but ive unfortunately never visited Denmark. So I settled for a bottle of akvavit. I enjoyed it. The taste was very unique and stayed on my palette for a full day afterwards. Im not sure its my new drink of choice just yet but I'd definitely buy it again. I found it easier to enjoy if it had been in the freezer for a little while before drinking.
