The nose is of good body with rich notes of Madeira and bramley apple, hints of spice and honey and a thickness. There are notes of star anise and barley, a hint of oak and a fresh mint note. The palate is of medium-body with good balance. There are notes of cut herbs, particularly fennel, there are notes of Madeira and calvados with a touch of oak. The finish is soft, yet of good length with toasty oak and spice.
