Whisky Cocktails Made for Summer
Whisky isn’t just for sipping by the fire. This summer, we’re making the case for swapping your G&T or spritz for something bolder, cooler, and a whole lot more delicious: whisky.
Across July, we’re spotlighting four brands: Johnnie Walker, Deanston, Monkey Shoulder, and Ardray. Each with new whisky cocktail recipes every week.
These aren’t just highballs and Old Fashioneds (though we love those too). We’ve pushed for fresh, original creations, with unexpected twists, tropical flavours, and unbeatable simplicity. You’ll find cocktail content across our emails and socials, plus inspiration right here on this page.

Deanston 12 Year Old
Deanston 12 Year Old is a wonderfully waxy Highland single malt. Aged in bourbon casks and bottled un-chill-filtered at 46.3% ABV, it has all the weight and texture needed for cocktails, yet remains approachable and bright enough to enjoy on its own. A true all-rounder.
Deanston Cold Brew Martini
A Highlands riff on the Espresso Martini, this Deanston serve swaps vodka for 12-year-old single malt, adding depth, malt sweetness, and a hint of spice.
Ingredients
30ml Deanston 12 Year Old
15ml Coffee liqueur
50ml cold espresso
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Garnish: coffee beans
Method
1. Pour all ingredients in ice filled shaker and shake until cocktail shaker is frosted.
2. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with coffee beans.
Deanston 15 Year Old Tequila Cask Finish
Yes, you read that right – this 15-year-old Deanston spent time finishing in Tequila casks, and the result is something genuinely different. The classic Highland waxiness remains, but now it’s joined by tropical fruits, a touch of agave sweetness, and a bright herbal lift. One for adventurous palates and perfect in a summery twist on a Whisky Sour.
