    Yamazakura Blended Whisky

A blended whisky from Japan's Yamazakura range, which is brought to market by Japanese company Sasanokawa Shuzo. The name itself a portmanteau of two Japanese terms 'Yama' means 'mountain' and 'Sakura' means cherry tree. If you think about it, a portmanteau is kind of like a blend but with words, so this name is rather apt for a Japanese blended whisky.

Save your money and go elsewhere

Meh…. I’m no expert, but it’s bottom of the barrel. Fortunately, it only cost me $15, since I live in Japan. No nose, flat taste. I won’t dump it out, but I won’t savor it either.

    Waste of money

It was my first Japanese "whisky". If this is how the Japanese taste like, then never going to buy again! Absolutely no nose aromas, really flat. The taste is more like a monthly raw oak barrel aging rather than years in a charred barrel. Completely no flavors other than slight raw oak and pure alcohol. It is so delicate, that perhaps a different level and I shouldn't compare it to any other whiskies I ever tried.

    Faux Japanese whisky

"Japanese whisky" Made with whisky sourced from elsewhere.
