Named after the postcode for the historic Sasanokawa Shuzo distillery in Japan, this 21-year-old blended whisky combine single malt and grain whiskies and is part of the Yamazakura 963 range. A balanced blend, with just enough complexity, and at 58% ABV a drop or two of water should help open things up nicely.
Polished oak furniture, sweet spices such as liquorice and cinnamon, with heather honey, and some red berries.
Bakewell tart, blackberries, oaky vanilla, woody spice, and dustings of cocoa powder.
Leathery spices and drying oak.
