For the tenth edition of Woodford Reserve's Master's Collection, the distillers have taken a page from the history books to create a bourbon using white corn rather than your standard yellow corn. Inspired by the work of master distiller James Crow and distilling pioneer Oscar Pepper, who were making whiskey on the Woodford Reserve site back in the early 1800s, the use of white corn has resulted in a lighter style of spirit with a fruit-forward flavour profile.
Sugar-coated pastry, ripe apple and pear with hints of lemon peel, charred oak smokiness.
Lemon cheesecake, white grape, mixed dried fruit, golden syrup, digestive biscuits and nutmeg heat.
Subtly pepper, though orchard fruit notes still in control.
