The mashbill for Woodford Reserve features a high percentage of rye: 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malt. The whiskey is also unusual for being triple distilled and having the lowest proof upon entering the barrel where it matures for at least six years. A must have Kentucky bourbon. Makes a wonderful Old-Fashioned cocktail!
Quite thick and creamy. There are notes of honey and spice, leather, a touch of cocoa, a little smoke, toasty oak and vanilla cream with a hint of butterscotch.
Thick and full. There are notes of espresso beans, winter spice, cereal sweetness, plenty of rye, ground ginger, almond oil, toasty oak and a little rum.
Long and mature with notes of cereals and toasty oaken spice.

Best bourbon out there especially for the praise and always available my go-to forever
As an amature conesour of fine craft whiskey I have spent a good deal of time and money on my pallet and have found that woodfords seasonal small batch reserve is by far one of the best. To date the best was the brandy cask finish! The year after (smoked cherry) was a let down in comparison to the brandy cask masterpiece ,however at the same price was worth the crap shoot of paying the fee for a good craft whiskey in hopes it would contend with the previous year. This was definitely not the case, however it was a minor let down in comparison to the travesty of this year's release of the oat grain! Moreover this year the price increased by $20.00 and was by far the worst I have had in the last 3 years. I have had wheat based whiskeys that retail for $25.00-35.00 that were by far more superior! The same in recent years I have given bottles to clients and colleagues for gifts over the holiday season, I buy a case at minimum every year from the same local store. This year I feel let down and almost embarrassed!
Tried this for the first time a few days ago best I have tasted love it with ice or a wee drop of ginger ale better than markers mark this was reduced to £20 a bottle bought another bottle before it goes back up I have drank bourbon for years from Jim beam to jack plus many others but this is true bourbon you must try this well done to this distillery
My daughter bought me a bottle for Christmas last year. The smoothest bourbon I have tasted. I drank the whole bottle straight. This year I was ecstatic when my daughter bought me a bigger bottle. Happy as a clam in New Jersey.
In my opinion, second only to Wild Turkey Rye and much better than a lot of the expensive Bourbons. Great with a splash of Rochester ginger wine.
