    Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon

The mashbill for Woodford Reserve features a high percentage of rye: 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malt. The whiskey is also unusual for being triple distilled and having the lowest proof upon entering the barrel where it matures for at least six years. A must have Kentucky bourbon. Makes a wonderful Old-Fashioned cocktail!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Quite thick and creamy. There are notes of honey and spice, leather, a touch of cocoa, a little smoke, toasty oak and vanilla cream with a hint of butterscotch.

    Palate

Thick and full. There are notes of espresso beans, winter spice, cereal sweetness, plenty of rye, ground ginger, almond oil, toasty oak and a little rum.

    Finish

Long and mature with notes of cereals and toasty oaken spice.

    The best everyday bourbon.

Wonderfully smooth, very little burn for a cheap bourbon. Makes Old No.7 taste like ethanol.

    My new favourite bourbon

Simply fantastic: smells creamy, sweet, slightly spiced and tastes even better; silky smooth, little bite but enough to give you a smile, very enjoyable spicy Rye aftertaste but not enough to overpower the vanilla and butterscotch notes. Overall I'm really happy with this bottle.

    Better by far than JD

Relatively new to bourbon but I have tried quite a few... This bourbon is by the far the best. It is very smooth and flavoursome at a reasonable price.

A stunning drink, great value for money

I do not understand some the negative comments, but I guess that we are all different! I totally agree with the tasting notes. I love the long lingering finish. One question - I have a couple of bottles at 43.2% and I have bought I find is 45.2% - is this a different blend? As yet this bottle is unopened.

    Ripped off

Got to admit the Double Oaked on special at $71AU was a bit rich. But WTF that's why we work. First sip, yeah you can taste the Oak. But in the end if me and my mate can't finish a bottle with a smile it's shit.
