Woodford Reserve Bottling Note

The mashbill for Woodford Reserve features a high percentage of rye: 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malt. The whiskey is also unusual for being triple distilled and having the lowest proof upon entering the barrel where it matures for at least six years. A must have Kentucky bourbon. Makes a wonderful Old-Fashioned cocktail!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Quite thick and creamy. There are notes of honey and spice, leather, a touch of cocoa, a little smoke, toasty oak and vanilla cream with a hint of butterscotch.

Palate: Thick and full. There are notes of espresso beans, winter spice, cereal sweetness, plenty of rye, ground ginger, almond oil, toasty oak and a little rum.

Finish: Long and mature with notes of cereals and toasty oaken spice.

Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon Reviews

Strong and full of flavour that lingers in the mouth

Novice bourbon drinker here so don't put too much faith in my review.
I like this but it does have a strong first taste that does stay with you for a while. It could become a firm favourite if I stuck with it. I still personally prefer Buffalo Trace for a daily drinker.

Good intro to bourbon

Notes of banana, brown sugar and light oak.
Taste of vanilla, caramel, pepper, cinnamon, oak .
Finish is hot for the proof, vanilla, cinnamon spice.

Buy it. Buy it now, fools.

Just about the best value Whisky I have ever purchased. Normally a single malt drinker but fancied something different and was not disappointed. All the feels and for £25. Miracle stuff.

Just About My Favourite Bourbon

Woodford Reserve is a lovely, smooth bourbon with a warming vanilla finish, with no jar on the back of the throat, as some bourbons are wont to do. Beats Gentleman Jack into a cocked hat, although Buffalo Trace is an excellent alternative.

Great but heavy

Wonderful favours and smells, almost too heavy and thick on the tongue

A very pleasant drink

Smells like a pack of sweets from the 1900s with honey, some spice and leather. Not harsh on the nose (like Gentleman Jack). Warms you up for a while but doesn't leave any burn on the way down.

Great for its price

I do like a nice bourbon, Woodford reserve is a great one for its price, creamy and full of flavour without being too harsh, all in all a nice drop but in this price range I still think wild turkey longreach just pips it

Amazing Flavor, great finish

For a sub$40 bottle of bourbon, I was very impressed. Initial flavor notes are a little floral with a hint of oak but the finish is excellent with vanilla tones much like more expensive single barrel whiskeys. The after taste is what won me over, smooth and almost velvet like with no bitterness at all. For me, this is my new daily sipper for now. At $38.95, you can’t go wrong to have this on shelf 2.
