The Wolfburn Distillery has got its third release in its Small Batch series sorted, and while it may be small batch, it's packing big flavours. Batch No.375 was matured in a combo of 100 litre first-fill bourbon barrels and second-fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads. The spirit was unpeated, so don't expect any smoke, but do expect wafts of floral barley, fragrant vanilla, chewy dried fruits and a kick of oaky spices. 5,500 bottles were produced.
Honeyed malt with hints of heather and citrus blossom in tow. A touch of sawdust and straw.
Sultana and dried cherry, peppery oak, very slightly chocolatey at points, with some waxy apple too.
Layers of toffee and milky tea on the finish.
