Aged for 12 years and 3 months. This was distilled during the summer of 1998, and it was aged on the 4th and 9th floors of Buffalo Trace's warehouses I and P, respectively. This offers notes of tobacco, intense oak, maple spice and vanilla. This was John Hansell's American Whiskey of the Year, and he even awarded it a stellar 96 points!

there is a reason this is sold out absolutely everywhere! i had the chance to try this (£26 for a 50ml measure...) and fell in love, it was just mind blowing! the nose was just so expansive, i was tasting it with a friend and we both just started waxing lyrical about what images it was conjuring for us- leather chairs next to an open fires, coming in to a warm house after a cold walk in autumn and taking your boots off...it got pretty ridiculous and we hadn't even tried it yet. when we did though, it packed the biggest, smoothest punch i've ever had from a drink. it's certainly not cheap, but the experience you get from even the smallest of tastes would make this a bargain at twice the price.
