This bottling of Wild Turkey has been aged for at least six years before coming out of the barrel at 109 proof. The whiskey is only diluted slightly before bottling at 101 proof with plenty of pep.
The nose is quite subdued, yet there remains a beautiful toffeyed sweetness. Notes of toasty oak and melted vanilla ice cream, a touch of zesty citrus and butterscotch. The palate is full and rich with notes of cigar box sweetness, pepper, caramel, or ‘carmel’ should I say? Notes of honey on granary toast with a little melted butter. The finish is long and rich with spice and toast notes.

This is my partner's favourite tipple and I always get him a bottle as a treat on special occasions.
I drink this with a little water at bedtime. It’s great tasting and has a good length - a perfect sipping bourbon. I imagine this in a mint julep. Old Fashioned, Manhattan too. But for me shines drink simply. Good Price point too.
In every way, value for money, quality, taste and smoothness. For a spirit that far overstrenth it slips down like honey. Would I buy it again, you bet I will.
I love a good whiskey, be it bourbon, rye, scotch, or Irish. I've had the privilege to taste many all over the world. None though keep me coming back the way this bourbon does. Great sipping straight, or with ice. Occasionally, I add a little bit of seltzer. The thing that bugs me though is, many people scoff at it, or turn their noses up at such a reasonably price whiskey, often brought to wild parties. I love it though, and will continues to imbibe it for as long as I'm on this planet.
I'm 77 now and been drinking whisky/whiskey all my life...all sorts, Scotch, blended and single malts. Canadian, American bourbon, Japanese even Thai, yuk!! I'm not a connoisseur, but I know what I like and Wild Turkey has been my number 1 choice since I first tried it so many years ago in a bar in Arizona. So smooth and forget all the flowery descriptions, its just the best. So enjoyable, I'm writing this after opening a new bottle and downing three fingers of my favourite tipple. Enjoy ❤️❤️❤️
