This bottling of Wild Turkey has been aged for at least six years before coming out of the barrel at 109 proof. The whiskey is only diluted slightly before bottling at 101 proof with plenty of pep.
The nose is quite subdued, yet there remains a beautiful toffeyed sweetness. Notes of toasty oak and melted vanilla ice cream, a touch of zesty citrus and butterscotch. The palate is full and rich with notes of cigar box sweetness, pepper, caramel, or ‘carmel’ should I say? Notes of honey on granary toast with a little melted butter. The finish is long and rich with spice and toast notes.

Decent ryes have priced me out over the last year or so, going from £30 to £40 a bottle. Thank heavens for Wild Turkey 101, the best of all worlds at a reasonable price!
You want a super good Old Fashioned ? Wild Turkey 101 is absolutely FANTASTIC as a base.
We Love Wild Turkey 10, that all we drink! The new 1.75 bottle sucks, doesn't have a handle any more, its hard to pour shots without spilling for a lady with small hands!
WT 101 - my Ardbeg 10 kind'ish from the other side of the big blue. though not close in flavore profile to the scotch it stand out and proud from the bourbon crowd. Smokey rye'ish very complex not too sweet, beautiful bourbon. I always keep few of this next to my "Isla Peaty Mates" stock. Forget price points it ain't relevant For those that enjoy and appreciate stand out unique flavor notes whisk(e)ys as it hands down many other with higher price tags. +1 for the none nonsense cylinder bottle which I like.
A powerhouse of a high-rye bourbon that's great value for money. A totally different experience to regular Wild Turkey. I can go either way with the water. A few drops really mellows it out and brings out the corn sweetness but neat you get the full rye bite. Delicious either way. Highly recommended.
