This English single malt began life in a first-fill bourbon barrel, which was re-coopered down to quarter cask size and re-fired to intensify the wood influence. Made with Plumage Archer barley and Kveik Hornindal yeast, it’s a bold, spicy dram with flashes of toasted oak and distant smoke.
Charred oak and caramelised brown sugar, spiced vanilla pods, toasted grain, and a lick of soft smoke.
Caramel and spice lead the charge, followed by layers of oak char, toffee apple, and a subtle BBQ ember.
Deep and oaky with a gentle, smoky fade and hints of nutmeg and cracked black pepper.
