An Irish Whiskey from the Celtic punk band The Pogues and West Cork Distillers (not to be be confused with the American whiskey Old Pogue). Fronted by Shane McGowan, the band have released The Pogues Whiskey which is said to have the highest malt content of any blended Irish whiskey! It was developed by Barry Walsh and Frank McHardy. The bells will certainly be ringing out for this one!
Sweet-smelling malt with waves of toffee to follow.
Smooth and creamy, toffee, vanilla, touch of dark chocolate, with some peachy fruit.
Dark chocolate, fudge, vanilla.
$34.57 - $97.82
As another reviewer mentioned already. I thought this was off as it was as awful on the nose as it was to the taste. It had a stale body odour like smell and had a very yeasty like flavour to the taste. I've had many whiskies that I've not enjoyed or not have been my thing but ive always finished them, but this is the first whisky that I discarded after a few attempts to taste. I'm not one to exaggerate but this is truly awful.
I love this whiskey
Bit odd, and not in a good way
Not the worst Irish whiskey, I don't agree with the tasting notes at all.
In all honesty this is by far the worst Whiskey ? I have ever tasted. It leaves an aftertaste that I can’t begin to describe. I thought it was off , so bad it was. Sorry .
