Another Irish whiskey from The Pogues (yes, the band) and West Cork Distillers. The band's first foray into the world of whiskey was a brilliant Irish blend, and now we have a single malt, aged in bourbon oak casks before it was bottled up at 40% ABV. Now we're going to have Fairytale of New York stuck in our heads for the rest of the day.
Fairly floral, with lavendar, sesame snaps, caramelised nuts and salted chocolate.
Dry oak spice and chai spices, with peanut butter, s'mores and floral malt.
A gentle finish of lingering caramel alongside cinnamon stick.

Whole load of rampant snobbery on here. Maybe it’s because my expectations were low but it’s not half bad. Yes it’s relatively light and you wouldn’t say it was complex but it’s a decent blend of spices and fruits. Whack on one of the eponymous bands tunes and enjoy yourself ??
Nice Enough
This is the worst Whiskey I ever tasted. In fact the black Pogues is nice but with this single malt they loose me as a client.
This should come with a public health warning for emotional disappointment ,it smells and tastes like an alcohol based cleaning agent ,unpleasant to smell and taste ,,,it doesn't have enough character to even be called smooth ,,like the the group ,I need to find my Kirsty McColl ,to add something to this ,I think with a hot whisky with honey and cloves ,it might just disguise ,the worst whiskey I have ever tasted
To me it was light and floral but with a nasty, cotton, aftertaste, like it had been stirred with a freshly unwrapped tampon
