Another wonderful bottling of the annual Writers Tears Cask Strength whiskey! This is the 2019 release - the ninth in the series - and it's a vatting of triple distilled, aged single pot still and single malt whiskey. The whiskey spent its days in bourbon barrels before it was bottled up at 53% ABV, and each bottle bears the signature of Walsh Whiskey founder and managing director, Bernard Walsh! Just 3,780 bottles were produced.
Hints of oak spice, with black pepper and sultana sweetness, with a hint of caramel.
Praline and dried apricot, with porridge, maple syrup and white grapes.
Caramel and woody cinnamon lingers.
