The Harvest from The Irishman whiskey range is built using a recipe of 70% single malt and 30% single pot still whiskeys, all made with Irish barley and all triple distilled. It's matured in American oak bourbon barrels, making for a flavour profile packed full of vanilla and creamy fruit notes. It was previously known as Founder's Reserve, but the new name was chosen to honour Irish agriculture and distilling.
Nectarine, honeydew melon, buttered brown bread.
Custard cream biscuits dunked in tea, cinnamon sticks, peppercorn, and lemon cheesecake.
More biscuit notes, with a touch of anise.
I am drinking my first ever glass of The Irishman, a Harvest edition. I tasted it neat but that was too high spirited for me. I then added about as much water as whiskey and now have a delicious, creamy mouthful, smooth, flavoursome, no notes of peat or smoke, nothing extreme or characterful about it but a darn good drink of whiskey that I would be glad to share with friends.
Needed to be mixed 1/2 1/2 with water to get it "drinkable" Never again!!! Far too expensive for this poor quality.
Smooth, no peat or oak? Love it
A truly beautiful Whiskey. Smooth and caramel like. First tried it in Bowes of Fleet street in Dublin and fell in love with it instantly.
Well, with trepidation I ordered this because they didn't have any Connemara. Thank you MOM for not having Connemara, I have found another Whiskey to add to my list of appreciated Irish Whiskeys. Hinch, Tyrconnell, Connemara, Sexton, Bushmill 10yo and now The Irishman. Only one I have ever had to return was The Pogues malt, which was Ugh x 3.
