Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Peach Campino sweeties (they also made the strawberries and cream sweets), apples and a soft, spicy hint of white pepper.

Palate

Plenty rich with a glorious mouth-feel. More ripe fruits, paired with vanilla and cinnamon.

Finish

Very long.

Overall

Well rounded, finely balance.

Very smooth

Very smooth and rounded flavour, hints of toffee, absolutely no harshness or burn. Not a flavour bomb, but a good all round sipping whiskey. Great at the price point.

Whilst hardly the most complex whisky, it is extremely smooth, with no burn at all, goes down very easy, definitely with a try at this price point

Solid Irish daily sipper, can't compete with the big boys

Solid Irish daily sipper, can't compete with the big boys of Irish like Redbreast or Green Spot or Bushmills 10 in my opinion, but it is also a lower price point. Enjoyable for what it is.... decent Irish blend of single malt and pot still. Not one I would serve to impress, but at the end of a long day and not wanting a daily sipping bourbon or scotch, this is a solid choice.

Excellent daily dram

Here we have a very good example of what makes Irish whiskey great. It has lots of flavor but not so much it becomes overly challenging, it's nice n smooth without being overly expensive, it's a fine whiskey without being pretentious or snobby and to me that's what makes Irish whiskey great.On the nose you get apples, honey, toffee, and maybe a slight suggestion of meadow flowers. On the palate much of the same but with that barley, bananas foster note that lets you know there's some pot still whiskey in this. Actually tastes like mixing a good Irish pot still whiskey with a classic Highland single malt. Excellent value for the money this is. Slainte! The Sugarbear
