Writers Tears is a light, sweet Irish whiskey made using a mix of single pot still and single malt whiskeys, resulting in oodles of honeyed, fruity notes. Wonderfully easy to drink, it would make for a great introduction to Irish whiskey for folks new to the spirit. (No writers were harmed in the making of this whiskey.)
Soft and sweet with thick honey spread on granary toast. Hints of citrus peels.
Honey develops on the palate. Mellow notes of vanilla and golden malt. Green apple skin, caramel and a hint of oak.
Warming, sweet and long.
Very yummy Irish whiskey indeed.

Best irishy whiskey
I was gonna give it a lower rating, but is not my deal so i'll cut it some slack and make a more general rating. Still, I don't think of this as a great, wonderful whisky. It's interesting, and it's cheap. Some apple notes, white chocolate, like, unsweetened cocoa butter, some doughy notes, lots of vanilla. It almost reminds me of apfelstrudel, but without the cinnamon. So like I'm saying, interesting, not my style, but having this in a collection next to whisky's like granheath 42yo xop, caol ila 25yo, even the cheap aberlour a'bunadh batch 55 and so many others just, to me, leave this WT's far behind. Again, this is my opinion, and I do not mean this isn't worth a try, nor do I mean to say this isn't a good whisky on itself.
Awesome
I am a Midleton Rare fan and found this to be a cheaper replacement for my Pot Still cravings. Sweet and light. Enjoy.
If whiskey don't kill me I'll live till I die
