Writers Tears is a light, sweet Irish whiskey made using a mix of single pot still and single malt whiskeys, resulting in oodles of honeyed, fruity notes. Wonderfully easy to drink, it would make for a great introduction to Irish whiskey for folks new to the spirit. (No writers were harmed in the making of this whiskey.)
Soft and sweet with thick honey spread on granary toast. Hints of citrus peels.
Honey develops on the palate. Mellow notes of vanilla and golden malt. Green apple skin, caramel and a hint of oak.
Warming, sweet and long.
Very yummy Irish whiskey indeed.

Canuck with Irish in the DNA is very happy with this whiskey in the igloo! I hope it lasts! Will need to snowshoe for more!
Got this as a pressie for xmas. First time I've tasted this particular brand but it won't be the last.
Stepping off a plane at 7;00am and walking through the airport I was approached by a lady offering samples of this lovely whiskey. I ended up buying a bottle and added it to my whiskey experience through Ireland. Good stuff indeed.
Bought a bottle from M&S when on offer a while back - My first try of a single pot 'style' and was very impressed. Lots of honey, but the thick, good quality kind. Slight touch of fruit and spice, malty and a surprisingly long finish. A sweet whiskey but not sickly or syrupy; good mouth-feel too. Not often I finish a bottle of whisky in under a month as I have a few on the go but this was hard to put down.
Not to everyone's taste, but I love it. Really, really different. And awesome value.
