Writers Tears is a light, sweet Irish whiskey made using a mix of single pot still and single malt whiskeys, resulting in oodles of honeyed, fruity notes. Wonderfully easy to drink, it would make for a great introduction to Irish whiskey for folks new to the spirit. (No writers were harmed in the making of this whiskey.)
Soft and sweet with thick honey spread on granary toast. Hints of citrus peels.
Honey develops on the palate. Mellow notes of vanilla and golden malt. Green apple skin, caramel and a hint of oak.
Warming, sweet and long.
Very yummy Irish whiskey indeed.

After seeing "Not my style" rate this as a paltry 3/5 then compares it to 25yo Coal Ila I had to leave a review. For $50 CDN this is a great Whiskey AT THIS PRICE. Yes Redbreast 21 and Yellow Spot will blow it out of the water but for the price it is great. Simple not pretentious, a little fruit and spice, and solid vanilla throughout nosing and finish, easy to sip neat with a drop of water or over ice for the beginner and you are laughing. Solid 4/5.
I haven't touched my Jameson in weeks. This stuff is incredible. Uber smooth.
Absolutely stellar whskey!! Finest liquid to have passed my lips ever....
The initial sip hits with a sharpness that recalls harsher Scotch blends but within a few seconds the mellow, smooth texture takes over. Every imbibing after that is silkier than a hand-maidens undies. And mine!
My go too Irish Whiskey.
