Writers Tears is a light, sweet Irish whiskey made using a mix of single pot still and single malt whiskeys, resulting in oodles of honeyed, fruity notes. Wonderfully easy to drink, it would make for a great introduction to Irish whiskey for folks new to the spirit. (No writers were harmed in the making of this whiskey.)
Soft and sweet with thick honey spread on granary toast. Hints of citrus peels.
Honey develops on the palate. Mellow notes of vanilla and golden malt. Green apple skin, caramel and a hint of oak.
Warming, sweet and long.
Very yummy Irish whiskey indeed.

Been drinking Irish whiskey for about 3 years now and still consider myself a novice. Previous favorites have been Glendalough and Teeling. A friend bought me a bottle of WT for my birthday and all I can say is Hello! New favorite! Easy on the palate, a touch of sweet honey, smooth going down. I will be drinking a lot of this whiskey this year.
Awful whiskey.
Best of irish at all
A friend brought back a bottle from Ireland to try. It was wonderful and had this smooth butterscotch note to it and I stated looking for it because it was so good. Finally found it and bought 2 bottles since that was all they had. Just opened it up and it is just harsh. No notes of anything but alcohol. It was harsh and just burned like it was 198 Everclear. I am not sure if they are exporting the crap to the US and keeping the good stuff in Ireland but I was totally ripped off on a bait and switch. The only thing this might be good for is making a whisky sauce or something.
I got this from my beautiful wife for a birthday present and it has become my go to drink for relaxing with a book. Tasty. Plus we were both surprised when we saw Phil from the Netflix show Somebody fill Phil drinking it when he was in Ireland.
