The Alltech-owned Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company created this bourbon under the brand 'Town Branch', which was named after the body of water running under Lexington to celebrate the town's rich distilling history.
The distillery was launched in just 2012, so this is a youthful whiskey. It was aged in new charred white oak barrels and diluted using calcium-rich limestone-filtered water.
Mineral water and wet leaves temper thick burnt oak notes and dark, toasty sugar.
Vanilla and sweet citrus fruits emerge among cinnamon and hints of cherry.
A little dried pineapple lingers.
