A gentle 10 year old from the Speyside distillery, Tomintoul, matured exclusively in American oak bourbon barrels. Tomintoul 10 Year Old was introduced to the range in 2002, two years after the distillery was bought by Angus Dundee, and has been awarded gold medals for its taste by some of the most prestigious spirits competitions in the world.
Medium-body and well-balanced. There are notes of vanilla fudge and barley. Tones of malt extract and espresso, hints of mochaccino and oak.
Pleasingly viscous, with notes of barley sugar, toasty cereals, acacia honey and malt extract. Honeycomb, toffee and a touch of vanilla fudge.
Quite short, yet charming.
I first tried this whisky at Tulloch castle in Dingwall, Scotland and I absolutely loved it. Simple ,classic Speyside but so smooth compared to Glenfiddich and Livet 12 years. Doesn't need any water drink neat to pick up all the amazing caramel, toffee, honey, almond, vanilla floral goodness. I really wish this was more common in California it's rare and kind of expensive here otherwise I would always have this in the cabinet. Cheers! The Sugarbear
Not remarkable (not necessarily a bad thing) by any any standards. Vanilla, caramel, and spice notes with a hint of class. Extremely palatable. Tastes like a blended masterpiece. I loved it.
Smooth and sweet with some spiced wood notes. No peat or earthy-ness but well-ballanced. A safe bet if you're unsure of the recipient's preferences - I can't imagine anyone actively disliking it.
What a delightful nose all salted caramel and vanilla. There's no great length to the finish but it's pleasan enough.
So easy to drink that my wife has finished the bottle whilst I was out.
