Single Malt
Douglas Laing
Scotland
A 21 year old single malt from the isle of Mull's Tobermory distillery, drawn from a refill hogshead that was laid down in October 1996. In May 2018, this cask was cracked open and drained of its whisky, which was bottled by Douglas Laing for the Old Particular range. 260 bottles were produced.
Spiced fruit compote, orange peel and cedar spiciness.
Honeyed cereal and more citrus, now joined by a touch of sea salt.
Biscuit-y malt, crushed walnuts and nutmeg.
Nice whisky, spicy nose and long finish. Very drinkable, little or no burn and several notes- cedar wood, ginger, old lemon rind, sea spray, and slight smokey metallic iodine. 84.5
