The Tobermory Distillery has kicked off its Sinclair Series of bottlings with a brilliantly flavoursome Ledaig single malt, which has enjoyed a finishing period in Rioja wine casks! The series is named after the distillery's founder, John Sinclair, and this particular edition packs plenty of peaty notes alongside the ripe red fruit sweetness imparted by the Rioja casks. A sublime evening dram, this.
Red grapes, cinnamon, rose petal jelly, and a wave of coastal smoke.
Grassy peat, stewed plum, raspberry, almond, dark chocolate.
Salted caramel, cherry, clove.

I don't normally go for smokey drams but this is very much an exception! Very clean, lingering warm wintery feeling. Very nice indeed!
Really liked this. Rioja and peat smoke. Well done Tobermory.
Astounding value for money, a beautiful whisky - the Rioja influence works so well. Peat, smoke, berries and cinnamon all prominent - love it. The price is a bonus and definitely makes it a 5 star whisky
I found Ledaig Rioja cask Finish - Sinclair Series just right on the Peaty side, very smooth with that warming toffee caramel finish, just what I like to finish the evening. Would recommend this one.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this. I really like the Ledaig 10. This has plenty of peat and the fruitiness from the Rioja cask finish works really well. I would buy another, definitely.
