    Tincup American Whiskey (70cl)

Tincup American Whiskey is made with a mashbill of rye, corn and malt, devised by Jess Graber - who's been playing around with distilling for the past 30 years and decided to make it his full time job. It's brought down to bottling strength using Colorado Rocky Mountain water. The name comes from gold miners in Colorado, who used to drink their whiskey from a tin cup - as such, the lid of Tincup American Whiskey can be used as a drinking vessel.

Curiosity killed the cat, satisfaction brought it back.

Had a good old sniff, expected a bourbon. In the mouth hole, it is a lot of vanilla and fire. I expected it to go down with a sickly, cheap aftertaste but then the hot fire dissipated into mellow, festive satisfaction juice. Better than paint thinner. Miss it if you don't like spicy bourbon. Grab it by the horns if you would like to sate your curiosity. Excellent for drinking games.

    Definitely worth trying

Vanilla, black pepper and a lot of spice! This probably isn’t as nice as the best bourbons at this price, but it’s pretty damn good and an interesting change. Quite moreish too... Was expecting this to be all marketing and not that nice, but was pleasantly surprised.

    Bad

Really didnt like this, i gave it a few tries then relegated it to my mixer bottle for guests. Very spicy but not in a good way, in a "im drinking poison" way Even the little gimmick cup rusted (its tin so that makes sense) I do not reccomend at all

    Somehow great...don't know why!

Please, please, please don't expect a bourbon. It doesn't boast the sweet vanilla signature you'd be expecting, so if that's what you're after, you'll be disappointed. Get that out of your mind though, and you find a spicy little number which is surprisingly moreish. I second the comment about its being a whiskey nobody should like...but which is somehow great. I've no idea why I like it - there's no obvious flavour I can pin down - but somehow I do! And yes - a decent Old Fashioned (and Manhattan), as it's very rye-y, and rye's what really belongs in an Old Fashioned.

    Caramel, Spice, and Everything Nice

This is a whiskey that isn't afraid to zing you with its spice, but is also smooth enough that you won't notice you've drank a quarter of a bottle in a single sitting. The whiskey comes out like amber and you're instantly hit with a molasses/caramel flavor, while maintaining a wavy mouth feel. The minty after-taste leaves your mouth and tongue feeling refreshed and masking its mouthfeel. The only downside I would put to this whiskey is that although it's flavor is great and it has some interesting things going for it, it's not at the top of its game when it comes to nose, which smells quite floral, but mostly minty, and almost a little perfumey. Even though it says 42%, it tastes like an 80 proof.
