Douglas Laing
Scotland
A limited edition release of Timorous Beastie from Douglas Laing, made exclusively with whiskies aged for at least 10 years. Timorous Beastie is part of the Remarkable Regional Malts range, and is made with malt whiskies from various distilleries in the Highlands region. The name itself is a nod to Scotland's favourite son, Robert Burns.
Roasted almond, maple syrup, fresh cedar, fudge and sponge cake.
Chewy apricot and butters scones. A hint of mineral-y smoke develops, but never quite comes to the fore.
Elegantly spicy on the finish, with honey and yellow plum lingering.
Nice enough but no real character to it, a splash of water increases the smoothness but much prefer Creag Dhu at more than £10 cheaper
This is a great whisky. Whether a sip and savour whisky drinker or a regular drammer of an evening, this will not disappoint.
What a gem I have just discovered. Only just got around to opening this and it’s truly excellent. Complex but accessible and full of sweet oak and honey and barley.
This is a really delicious sweet style of malt scotch whisky. I got lots of honey, a sweet nutiness and marmalade style. Thoroughly enjoyed and thoroughly recommend.
Really good malt scotch whisky this one. Tired their 18 year old recently and was impressed generally by the flavour and depth but also by this whole blend of single cask single malts concept. The 10 didn’t disappoint. I actually think I enjoyed even more than I did the 18.
