The source of Finlaggan has remained a very closely guarded secret. To tell the true origin of Old Reserve you'll simply have to taste it and find out!
Slightly medicinal nose with hints of peanut, sticking plasters, manuka honey and digestive biscuits.
Sweet cereals, barley malt, a little peat smoke, TCP, nutmeg and ginger.
A long, sweet finish with toasty oak and peppermint.

perfect Christmas present
The distillery may be a closely guarded secret, but what cannot be hidden is the lingering Lagavulin finish!
I did a blind test of Finlaggen next to Lagavulin 16, Compass Box Peat monster, Laphroaig 10, and Ardbeg 10 just to see how I really felt about it. Surprisingly though I picked the Finlaggen over the other peated Whiskies time and again. Been buying it ever since.
For something which is half the price of most Islay malts this is excellent whisky. Is it Peaty? Yes. Does it give you sea saltiness? Yes. Is there a hint of sweetness there? Yes. Is it malty? Yes. Is it young? Yes? Is it a bit drying in the finish? Yes. Is it half as good as whiskies that are double the price? No. Pound for pound it punches way above its weight. I like it.
Poor whiskey, although calls itself OLD it is lacks maturity. Rough taste, headache producing. Very misleading labeling- a cheat.
