The creation of master blender Alex Thomas, The Sexton Single Malt Irish whiskey is made from 100% Irish malted barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills. After, the liquid is aged in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks imparting a rich and fruity character. It comes in a rather eye-catching hexagonal bottle, too.
Rich aromas of nuts, marzipan and dark chocolate with a pinch of spice.
Dried fruit followed by honeycomb sweetness, apricots, lemon zest, prunes and oak spice.
Woody on the finish, with honeyed sweetness coming through.

Good little number, you can talk all the talk you want! Pleasant on the nose & tongue..... leaves a cracking after taste that lingers like smoked caramel! For the price you’d be stupid not to!
I can’t think where the negative reviews come from on this one. It’s lovely. For the price it tastes like something more expensive. Tonnes of fruit on the nose, especially apple. Lovely smooth taste that you would expect from one finished in sherry casks. Worst thing about it is the neck of the bottle. I love the quirky bottle, but it’s impossible to pour without dribbling it everywhere.
Nothing special. Many whiskies available at £20-ish are just as good.
We've had this at our store for a while now and I've always overlooked it. I guess it just looked too gimmicky or seemed too cheap for a single malt but I'm running out of Irish whiskey's to try so let's give this a try. Upon opening I was astounded at how good it smelled, not fumey at all, just rich sherrywood, dark fruits, and vanilla beans. The palate is just as good as the nose , classic sherried whiskey so much dark fruit, deep oaky- ness, sweet high grade tobacco, figs, dates, and a little bit of that copper pot still barley taste to let you know it's from Ireland. Amazing value dram this, I'd say this is as good as a lot of Scottish single malts and about half the price. If you're looking for an Irish whiskey to pair with a cigar that won't break the bank this is it! Cheers! The Sugarbear
I love my single malts, and sexton is one of the smooth, silky taste which I enjoyed drinking with ice and Highland still water..
