    Product details

    The Sexton Single Malt

The creation of master blender Alex Thomas, The Sexton Single Malt Irish whiskey is made from 100% Irish malted barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills. After, the liquid is aged in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks imparting a rich and fruity character. It comes in a rather eye-catching hexagonal bottle, too.

“The first time I had heard of The Sexton, I was telling the lady at the liquor store that I don't like smooth whiskey, I like the stuff that burns, and hits you, and makes you want to spike the shot glass like a football and punch the person next to you. So she said "You need to try Sexton, that's done in copper pots and it's like hell fire going down". SOLD! I got home, and opened the bottle expecting a smoke skull to waft out of the bottle and laugh at me for digging my own grave... but it didn't happen... I sniffed it... "this smells pretty good actually" I thought. I poured a shot, and slurped in enough to get a taste, but not so much that I might die... "This is actually really good." And not in a "this whiskey just punched my liver right out my butthole" good... like this is my new go-to Irish whiskey good. Move over Jameson, you've been replaced. ”

Reviews for The Sexton Single Malt

    Very enjoyable.

I was getting a hint of liquorice which I really enjoyed although no other reviews mentioned this so maybe just me

All said and done, this is a good pour, and I’d be happy to be served this!

Nose: hints of nuttiness, with an abundance of honey and fruity sweetness.. a bit of oak in there too. Palate: chocolate and berries, with a tinge of spice, no ethanol flavour to be found. Visual: beautiful legs when swirled, gorgeous copper colour (though cannot say if it’s due to aging, or because of additives) All in all, for the price, I’ve had better Irish Single Malts, but all things considered, it meets all the requirements of a good Irish Whiskey.

    A wee bit harsh

I thought the finish was a wee bit harsh

    Excellent value for money

A very nice whiskey that punches well above it's price point. Can definitely tell its a young whiskey but goes down well with a smooth finish. Had it neat on ice
