The Sassenach is the first whisky launched by Sam Heughan (who you may know as the actor who plays Jamie Fraser on hit sci-fi TV show Outlander), inspired by picturesque Highland landscapes. Expect waves of butterscotch, fresh citrus and warming spices from this tasty blended Scotch whisky.
Fresh apricot and orange, with a drizzle of caramel and a slow build of cinnamon.
Waves of honey and vanilla fudge, dotted with raisin, almond and another helping of cinnamon spiciness.
Lasting nutmeg, citrus oils and toffee.
I bought a bottle for my husband a few years ago and he’s asked for a replacement every time he finishes one, the only other staple permanently in his collection is Scapa. Expensive for a blend but it’s smooth, fruity, fudgey notes make it stand out.
I’m not usually known for drinking whisky straight up, more so in cocktails or a hot toddy, however trying the Sassenach brand has changed my mind. I love everything about this blended whisky, taste, fragrance when you open the beautiful bottle is absolutely amazing. I’m pleased Sam Heughan didn’t white label someone else’s creation, he knows his stuff when it comes to whisky. Kudos to Master of Malt for stocking and dispatching so quickly
Im not normally a Whisky drinker, wanted to try the Sassanach, Its gorgeous,
Ngl I bought this whiskey because I love Sam and Outlander but I wasn’t expecting to love this whiskey as much as I do. Everything about this Whiskey is PERFECT! The bottle, the cork, the scent, the FLAVOUR! As soon as I opened it I was getting hints of caramel and vanilla. I will be repurchasing for those special occasions. Thank you Sam ????????
Unfortunately, this is a poor & disappointing whisky. Far too much immature marketing fluff n flannel. Certainly not worth the highly inflated price....more of a bottom shelf mixer. There are far far better choices out there. Spend your hard earned money wisely.
