Caramel, sherry-soaked sultanas, orange peel, and winter spice.
Tinned peaches, creamy vanilla, ginger snaps, dried fruit, and dark chocolate.
Cinnamon and oak char.

This has a fairly harsh taste to it but in a good way that’s surprisingly nice. Although it doesn’t have that much of a stronger taste than their 15 year old variant of this product. I could really taste the flavouring of the sherry cask, which is something I can’t say I’ve experienced before even when drinking these premium whiskies. I could really taste the ginger notes over the orange zest and raisins. I recommend drinking with ice and savouring the flavour.
Barely sweet nose, cinnamon, aromatic wood notes, not quite sandalwood. Vanilla and spiced raisins Fairly thin mouth feel Short finish compared to others Taste. sweet raisins and cinnamon, vanilla. Balanced but nothing especially jumps out in it's character that makes it stand out. Pleasant sipper and very refined. But doesn't stand out. Would expect more barrel characteristic from a whiskey of this age. I don't get a lot of the sherry cask character. And this is mainly on the nose. Water moves
I'm not normally a whisky drinker but I drank this one neat to get the true flavour, nice colour, on opening the smell is amazing, the flavours are really nice, one to be savourd and not drank too quickly, I would save this for special occasions.
You can definitely taste the sherry/wine comparative given the cask. I preferred the 15 DC but my friend preferred this. I found it quite harsh and not sure its worth the extra cost
Macallan 18 sherry oak cask is a very high quality whisky very smooth taste with a note sweet vanilla and cinnamon. 18 years in nice rare sherry Spanish cask gives it a unique colour and beautiful scent as well.Highly recommended.
