Another stellar addition to the Double Cask range from Macallan! This 15 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky showcases the Speyside distillery’s signature style in full flow. Matured in a mix of American and European oak casks, both seasoned with Oloroso sherry, it brings rich depth and character. Expect layers of creamy vanilla, dried fruit, and gentle spice – a beautifully balanced dram that’s everything you’d want from a sherried Macallan. A top choice whether you’re gifting, collecting, or just looking to enjoy a classic.
Butterscotch and plump raisin, with spiced apple crumble and oak spice.
Dried fruits galore, with a dusting of cinnamon, candied ginger and orange peel.
More warming ginger alongside a drizzle of honey and buttery caramel.
$35.43 - $105.19
You can definitely taste the vanilla and without water. If with cheese I rinse the glass first with water which softens the whisky allowing the cheese to shine along with the whisky
We tried this neat. The nose offered up raisins, apple crumble topping, butterscotch, mince pies along with a subtle smokiness. The palate was smooth with orange peel, dried fruits and subtle smoke. The finish was long with orange peel, ginger warmth and a note of smoke. We really enjoyed this one, take your time and savour the complexity.
Slightly darker single malt whiskey, quite a distinct and heady smell. Very smooth with a stronger and longer lasting after taste. Personally preferred the "Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask"
Alright, so I tried The Macallan 15 Year Old Whisky, and it's like a flavour rollercoaster. The colour is this beautiful rich amber, and the smell hits you with a mix of toffee, dried fruits, and a hint of cinnamon – proper inviting. Taking a sip, it's a sweet explosion, like caramel and raisins having a party in your mouth. There's a subtle spicy kick too, which keeps things interesting. The whole experience is smooth, leaving a warm, lingering taste. It's a bit pricier, but worth it.
This has a strong taste that is noticeably stronger than their Double Cask 12 year old product. I could really taste the flavouring of the sherry cask, which is something I can’t say I’ve experienced before even when drinking these premium whiskies. There was definitely a strong taste of oak spice as well, that was a lot more overpowering than the other notes listed in the description.
