The Macallan
Scotland
Single Malt
Another stellar addition to the Double Cask range from Macallan! This 15 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky showcases the Speyside distillery’s signature style in full flow. Matured in a mix of American and European oak casks, both seasoned with Oloroso sherry, it brings rich depth and character. Expect layers of creamy vanilla, dried fruit, and gentle spice – a beautifully balanced dram that’s everything you’d want from a sherried Macallan. A top choice whether you’re gifting, collecting, or just looking to enjoy a classic.
Butterscotch and plump raisin, with spiced apple crumble and oak spice.
Dried fruits galore, with a dusting of cinnamon, candied ginger and orange peel.
More warming ginger alongside a drizzle of honey and buttery caramel.

A nice oaky aroma and taste, very smooth. I didn't find much body and taste, especially when trying the 12 and 18 cask versions. Does have a fair bit of punch from the offset, though I wish it had more depth.
I’m a ‘regular’ whisky drinker and drank this neat to start with, walnut in colour with a very similar brandy / caramel aroma to the Macallan Double Cask 12 year but rounder and slightly more bodied. However, a harsh whisky both in the mouth and as it goes down, which was completely unexpected as the 12 year was, surprisingly, smoother, this then had to be mixed to soften it. Based on this I would not buy again or recommend.
This is a great drink and I highly recommend it. It is what I was looking for. It has a great taste, a refreshing warm feeling followed by a good after taste. I will be sticking with this one for a while.
I couldn't decide if I wanted to drink it or eat it ?. A delicious mix of apple upside-down cake and whiskey-soaked raisins. Stunning. Quite stunning.
A delicious butterscotch flavour ..excellent whisky for a treat ..I like it on its own to savour the complex flavours ..
