Another stellar addition to the Double Cask range from Macallan! This 15 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky showcases the Speyside distillery’s signature style in full flow. Matured in a mix of American and European oak casks, both seasoned with Oloroso sherry, it brings rich depth and character. Expect layers of creamy vanilla, dried fruit, and gentle spice – a beautifully balanced dram that’s everything you’d want from a sherried Macallan. A top choice whether you’re gifting, collecting, or just looking to enjoy a classic.
Butterscotch and plump raisin, with spiced apple crumble and oak spice.
Dried fruits galore, with a dusting of cinnamon, candied ginger and orange peel.
More warming ginger alongside a drizzle of honey and buttery caramel.
Smell. Fig and vanilla. Similar to the 12 yo. But more complex. Warming Texture is almost a banana type creamyness but without the flavour. Taste sweet initially like candied peel. Developing into Fig notes and then a lingering heat at the end. Some bitterness but nicely balanced. Panacotta type creamyness. This comes across in the nose as it airs and develops. Drop of water and it becomes more fruity/citrus on the nose. Fresher. Water removes some of the heat, but doesn't impact the flavour in
I'm not normally a whisky drinker but I drank this one neat to get the true flavour, It wasn't as good as the 12 year old whisky I felt the combined flavours were too much together, and it was way too expensive.
Nice smooth whisky with ice. Not smokey at all which is nice. Definitely nicer than the 12 year and more bodied. Harsher than the 18 year but significantly cheaper
Macallan 15 here we have another very good double cask, the American and European oak is doing really good job together. After trying the 12 yo macallan I can see the difference, this one has more deeper and more lovely creamy taste.
Having just tried this 15 year old was not sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavour
