Wow, not sure if everyone tasted the real 15 years, but mine was pleasant and easy to drink. I am not an expert drinker, but as long as it is smooth and taste rich it is good for me.
My father-in-law got me a bottle of this last Christmas and my initial impressions weren't that good. It was quite nippy, almost astringent for a 15 yo, 43% whisky. Not much going on other than old wood, some spice and some barrel char. About a 1/3 of the bottle was gone then I let it sit for months untouched. I've just revisited this whisky recently and wow, what a difference! Richer maltiness, leather, raisins, dried apricots, orange peel and old wood on the nose. Taste is similar with even more sweetness, figs, oak char, tobacco and barley sugar. Very enjoyable dram now.
