Originally released as part of Glenlivet's Travel Retail market offering, the Triple Cask Matured Distiller's Reserve expression brings together whisky matured in three different types of cask - traditional casks, American white oak casks and ex-sherry casks. Wonderfully well balanced stuff.
Honeycomb, whiffs of sherried peels and dried fruit, polished oak, slightly earthy and herbal as it develops in the glass.
Chewy dates, almond flakes, toasted coconut, Shredded Wheat in milk topped with brown sugar, good coffee.
More dates, now paired with fudge and a slight waft of vegetal smoke.

This is same stuff as Glenlivet's Master Distiller’s Reserve, but in a new box and with sligthly different name. Good whisky, easy to drink especially for thosse who don't like smokiness. Reasonable priced whisky. (R)
