“Do not understand the gold medal it got years ago. All I tasted was alcohol and bitterness. I can only assume that triple cask means very old washed out casks + extremely old washed out casks + left over casks others rejected. Sorry for the sarcasm. Sadly this was the very first whisky I ever bought that ended up on the kitchen sink. ”

Originally released as part of Glenlivet's Travel Retail market offering, the Triple Cask Matured Distiller's Reserve expression brings together whisky matured in three different types of cask - traditional casks, American white oak casks and ex-sherry casks. Wonderfully well balanced stuff.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Honeycomb, whiffs of sherried peels and dried fruit, polished oak, slightly earthy and herbal as it develops in the glass.

Palate

Chewy dates, almond flakes, toasted coconut, Shredded Wheat in milk topped with brown sugar, good coffee.

Finish

More dates, now paired with fudge and a slight waft of vegetal smoke.
