Glenlivet has a history of releasing rather mysterious whiskies (Alpha, Cipher and Code, for example), and they're at it again with The Glenlivet Spectra! This time, Glenlivet master distiller Alan Winchester and his team have created a trio of single malt Scotch whiskies (presented in three 20cl bottles) that explore a spectrum of flavours - but don't expect Glenlivet to just tell you what you should be tasting. Instead, the distillery has set up a digital experience for people to explore and challenge their tasting abilities to determine what makes each of the three whiskies unique. Mysterious!

The whisky is nice but the experience is awful. I purchased this set a few years back because the experience it offered sounded interesting. The whisky itself is perfectly enjoyable. However, the experience the set expects you to access is rarely working online. Despite there being no issues of network connectivity in my home I have been able to access the experience once. Whenever I have attempted to share it with friends or family if it loads we can do the first dram and then it gets stuck or the webpage times out entirely. I cannot recommend this in its current state.
The most fun I’ve had tasting a delicious dram … or three!!
