A tropical expression from The Glenlivet, for Caribbean Reserve a portion of the whisky was finished in casks which previously held Caribbean rum. The distillery folks suggest adding a splash of coconut water, though we reckon a malty twist on a Mai Tai is on the cards!
Honeyed orchard fruit, tinned pear and fried banana.
Ripe tropical fruit and brown sugar, along with cinnamon pastries.
Pineapple upside down cake.

Personally I quite liked this drink. I wouldn't say smooth was a bit harsh straight but I did enjoy the carribean aftertaste. Works well with a mixer I think. Maybe not one for the connesieurs though
Very smooth. Love the flavour
I really like this whisky. I'm not a massive fan of Glenlivet as I find the taste quite harsh. This, on the other hand, is lighter and doesn't have the alcohol taste. The nose is refreshing and the after taste is really nice. I used ice stones so it didn't water down and it really made a difference enhancing the taste. This is definitely going to be one of my favourites.
From the first taste this became my favourite whisky ever. There is only one problem, once I started pouring and sipping I kept pouring and sipping. Normally I would maybe have a couple of glasses very occasionally so going through more than 3 quarters of a bottle in one evening is a first. Absolutely 5 stars from me.
May as well be drinking Jameson. Harsh taste. The people here calling it smooth must not have the palate or experience with a truly good quality single malt.
