The Glenlivet 40 Year Old
This exquisite single malt from The Glenlivet matured for a mighty 40 years, including a custom sherry cask finish resulting in a luxurious profile, brimming with poached fruits, chocolate and spice. The Glenlivet team collaborated with its longstanding sherry partners in the Jerez region of Spain, creating a bespoke blend of oloroso and Pedro Ximénez that was used to season the casks that this single malt finished in, ensuring a superb depth of flavour and a sweet, generously long finish.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Rich and fruity with notes of homemade strawberry jam and raisins. Luscious dark cherries are complemented by cinnamon, nutmeg and a hint of sweet toasted oak.
Palate
Sweet layers of poached plums and charred orange progress to yet deeper notes of dark chocolate, braised red apples and sweet liquorice.
Finish
Long, sweet and rich with warming spice.
