Single Malt

Joining the Glasgow 1770 Small Batch Series, this limited edition single malt from the Glasgow distillery marries together two different spirit styles, that have undergone two different maturation processes. Laid down in 2018, a batch of Glasgow 1770 - Peated single malt was initially matured in American white oak before finishing in red wine casks from Bordeaux, while its triple distilled single malt spent time in bourbon casks, and finished in ruby Port casks. Six casks were married toward the end of 2022, bottled without chill filtration or added colour at a bold 57.5% ABV. A release of 1,925 bottles.
Boozy cherries and berries, notes of Bakewell Tart with waves of vanilla and almond, with peat smoke and charred oak developing in time.
Poached stone fruits, a touch of ginger, and toasted marzipan lead to bold, peppery spice and stewed tea.
Dense tannic oak, tobacco, and red fruits linger, with crackles of toasted pepper and nutmeg lingering.

A jam-packed release from The Glasgow Distillery - been enjoying a couple of their limited edition releases and this one may just be the best so far. It's also very reasonably priced, all in all what is not to love
