A Texan bourbon created for Berry Bros. & Rudd's Texas Legation range. This is the second batch from the series, distilled by Ironroot Republic in Denison, Texas. They create their spirits predominantly using grain grown within 60 miles of the distillery and complete all steps of distillation on-site.
Cinnamon gum, corn-on-the-cob with lots of butter, a bit vegetal.
Fruitier than the nose, with notes of roasted apple and apricot. More BBQ char.
Cayenne pepper and brown sugar.

My fave and ‘go to’ bourbons are Maker’s Mark, Woodford Reserve and Knob Creek, Maker’s the most budget friendly. The Texas Legation bourbon was a pleasant surprise! It can match the above but is unique and “stands alone” with it’s non cloying sweetness and bold character( i like them with an ‘edge’). I am not ashamed to say that i for to try it because it was on sale but thanks to the ‘sale’, i am now a fan.
