The flagship expression from Dublin's Teeling, the Small Batch Irish whiskey is made with a blend of malt and grain whiskeys, initially aged in ex-Bourbon barrels. Following that, the Teeling folks moved the whiskey over to casks that had previously held Central American rum! In these casks, the whiskey had an extra rest for up to 12 months, before being bottled at 46% ABV without any chill-filtration. Wonderfully full-flavoured, with plenty of fresh fruit, creamy vanilla and lively spice notes to enjoy!
Cut grass and orange blossom. Allspice, hints of vanilla, apple pie and blackberries.
Spiced, rich palate with rose petal jelly and lemon curd. Creamy vanilla, hints of dried herbs and cinnamon.
Floral, herbal finish. Caramel on the tail.
A deliciously creamy, spicy and rich Irish blend.
For me, the Rum overpowers the typical flavours I like in Irish whiskey. This one is very sweet, foregrounding the Rum and then with a slightly unpleasant burn at the tail end. It has some interesting qualities as an experiment but overall this is disappointing for me, not their best effort.
Superb whiskey. Lovely to sit and enjoy a glass or two of an evening. One of the best whiskies that I have tasted. Would highly recommend. Slante
I bought a set of 24 Irish whiskey samples from here and scored each one, this was by far my favourite, few months later I have just opened a full bottle and yes its still very tasty, the samples are a great way of discovering new whiskies
Confession: I like pot still. This does t advertise as a so gel malt Irish but tastes like one to me. I expected more of a blended Tully taste but not the case. Not bad but like I said, I am basing this review relative to my Irish preference
Great spices and all but also i get coffee...the overall taste is like very light coffee not with cinnamon clove and some fruites. Very round full flavourd and very good for irish coffee..no alchohol bite.
