The flagship expression from Dublin's Teeling, the Small Batch Irish whiskey is made with a blend of malt and grain whiskeys, initially aged in ex-Bourbon barrels. Following that, the Teeling folks moved the whiskey over to casks that had previously held Central American rum! In these casks, the whiskey had an extra rest for up to 12 months, before being bottled at 46% ABV without any chill-filtration. Wonderfully full-flavoured, with plenty of fresh fruit, creamy vanilla and lively spice notes to enjoy!
Cut grass and orange blossom. Allspice, hints of vanilla, apple pie and blackberries.
Spiced, rich palate with rose petal jelly and lemon curd. Creamy vanilla, hints of dried herbs and cinnamon.
Floral, herbal finish. Caramel on the tail.
A deliciously creamy, spicy and rich Irish blend.

Now, I like Rum and I like Whisky, but to my taste, being matured in a Rum cask has given this lovely Irish Whiskey a harsh Rum after taste, which spoils the smoothness of the Whiskey.
This is lovely stuff. Super smooth with complex and lasting finish.
Worst I ever tasted. First smell and sip equivalent of what you would get from fermenting/distilling alcohol from sugar in water with commercial yeast. In the middle you may indeed find some of flavors/aromas, but still hard to enjoy from the overwhelming smell and taste of yeast. No “length” or “finish” of any pleasant flavors whatsoever - again only yeast and a bit of what sawdust must taste like. Wasted money in my opinion.
Not one I would have bought (Irish, blended) but had it in the advent calendar and would recommend as a good every day whisk(e)y.
